Upgrade presentation video

2015.2 contains improvements to the collaborative modelling session feature that allows several people to open the same process model and to update and see the process model changes in real time has been seriously enhanced. We have also made it easier to copy process versions within a process so that reverting to an earlier version of a process is as easy as clicking on a button.

New features

Collaborative Modeling Session

The collaborative Modeling Session in the Barium Live BPMN Modeler 2.0 has been enhanced to really work for you. You can now invite everyone to the process that you want input and feedback from and give them permission to edit the process model. When they join the session they can see the process being created in real-time and give feedback to the modeler in the chat window for example.

It’s also possible to “pass the pen” to anyone that is part of the session allowing someone else to continue modeling while you sit back and watch. This is done by clicking on the new button Request to model. The person who is currently modeling receives a notification and can choose to hand over the controls or not.

Also, if the person that is modeling leaves the process, the others can take over the control and continue modeling removing the risk of locking out anyone else who wants to continue.

Copy and revert to earlier process versions

It is now possible to revert to an earlier version of a BPMN 2.0 process model. This makes it easier to revert to an earlier version of the process model without having to remodel everything from the beginning.

In the Versions panel, each version now shows a new button called Copy to new version which can be used to make the current version a new draft and continue modeling from there.

Add Documents to Block Symbols

Documents can now be added to the Block Symbol in the same way that they already can be added to Tasks in a BPMN 2.0 process model. This allows you to create process models where documents can be made accessible from a much wider range of symbol than just Tasks.

You can change a block symbols colour and shape or upload a custom image which makes it a powerful tool to add custom, non-BPMN design to your process models. With the new improvement of adding documents to the Block Symbol you now have a new freedom to create your perfect process models.

Reconnect lost connection

In the Barium Live BPMN Modeler 2.0 we’ve added a new notification for when you lose your internet connection. The message is shown together with a “reconnect” button that can be pressed if you temporarily lose your internet connection so that you easily can continue modeling from where you left off. A little bit easier and clearer than having to refresh the web browser.

Fixed issues

  • Slight improvements to the user interface for configuring Timer Events for BPMN 2.0 processes.
  • Fixed an issue with uploading images to the Block Symbol if the file type is written in capital letters.
  • Fixed an issue for Viewer accounts where they would sometimes get an error after starting a new instance.
  • Fixed an issue where users could not create a copy of the process model if they only had View Permissions.
  • The ability to update a process containing a Call Activity where a new version of the Call Activity has been created and the name of the process has been changed has now been fixed so that you can remove and re-add the process as a Call Activity in your process and the new name of the process model will show in the Call Activity.
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes you couldn't upload documents to the content folder if the file contained a hyphen (-).
